Pacts Auction Systems are suppliers of
high quality, well supported and well documented software. We have for
over two decades supplied specialist IT services to
auction houses. Product development is (and has always been) based on
listening to customers' needs and then undertaking tailored development
to solve their business problems.
We supply auction management software to
auctioneering businesses of all kinds. We provide contact management software
to enable our clients to target the exact requirements of their
customers - please click the "Mailing" tab above for further
information. We provide high
quality training and support for all our customers.
We provide website design and support
services for scores of auctioneers. Our CatMaker (TM) Internet
catalogue production software creates beautiful and easy to use
catalogues which are revered by buyers all over the world - it is simply the best there is.
Our software supports both
Live auctions (with or
without Internet live bidding) and On Line
(eBay-style) auctions.
Software for Live Auctions
Designed to automate
live auctions - those with an
audience (either present in the saleroom or bidding live via the Internet or both). Provides all necessary retail point-of-sale invoicing and payment
processing. Includes automated Internet catalogue production and
processing of commission bids from Internet and local sources.
Software for On Line Auctions
Pacts On Line
allows
auctioneers to create and manage their own on line
auctions. The only known product
range worldwide which can create live auctions, with
point-of-sale invoicing and Internet bidding and on line
auctions from within one integrated product.
Pacts On Line
is configured, supplied, updated and maintained using the SaaS (Software as a Service)
business model. A simple monthly fee covers all costs. No initial purchase price, no development charges, no
setup fees and no annual licence fees.
Pacts History
The first version of our software was released in
1983 to an industry of about 800 auction firms that,
even then, badly needed modernisation. Since
1983 we have supplied over 300 auction houses with
our software products. In later years, and
especially since the emergence of eBay, many of
those auctioneer clients have merged or ceased
trading and the fine art auction industry has been
somewhat rationalised. In 2010 we think there are around 400 auction firms
specialising in antiques, collectors items, pictures, fine art and chattels,
together with another 60 firms of commercial auctioneers and 40 firms of
property auctioneers.
Today, we actively
support a majority of the UK's best known
regional auction houses. A detailed independent
survey showed that we have many more clients than our nearest
competitor. We support over 50 of the top 100 firms outside London.
Our auction house customers include
a majority of the member firms of
SOFAA (The Society of Fine Art Auctioneers). Our systems are the main
independent suppliers of auction data to The Invaluable Group
(now owned by ArtFact) and Metropress
Limited (aka - the
Antiques Trade Gazette, ATG Media and the-saleroom.com). Our
clients have, historically, tended to be the larger regional salerooms. Six
of the top twelve
regional auction houses use our
software. Other suppliers have two users each in the top twelve. Our systems
typically process
some 15 auctions each working day.
Our systems are
also popular among the smaller salerooms - a
testimony to the ease of use, speed, flexibility
and affordability of our products. Across all
fine art clients, items sold
including pictures, ceramics, furniture, silver, jewellery, works of art
and so on exceed £300 million
in value each year. No other supplier of
auction management software in the chattels and fine art field
exceeds this total activity within
the United Kingdom.
(Note: SOFAA
are the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers. SOFAA
currently has 40
member firms, 22 of whom make exclusive use of our auction
management software - twice the presence
of any other supplier. RICS and NAVA are other
organisations representing auctioneers).
Why Buy From Pacts
|
|
 |
|
We were
established in 1983 - this is our 27th year of working for
auctioneers. |
|
| |
 |
|
We are dedicated to the design and
production of computer software for auctioneers of all disciplines -
we do nothing else. We know the auction business back to front. |
|
| |
 |
|
We are the
only firm who can claim a genuine longevity in provision of computer
systems for auctioneers - the original founding partners are still in place. Our senior staff member has over 20 years experience in the
business. |
| |
 |
|
Our technical
support and training regimes are second to none. We provide only
"Platinum" support standards. We employ specialist
support staff - programmers are not used for first line product
assistance. We do not do 'email support ticketing' - often an excuse
for rationed or worse, non-existent support. |
| |
 |
|
We have an
impressive customer
base which includes some of the largest regional salerooms - and
scores of the smallest. It's your guarantee of what your peers think
of our products and services. |
| |
 |
|
All our
clients receive free software updates - at least once per annum. Whenever a change is requested to the bespoke parts of the system
then the client is automatically supplied with the latest version of
the standard system components. So all our clients always have up to
date versions of the product range. |
| |
 |
|
Our products are affordable, flexible, simple to use and reliable. We provide comprehensive, copiously illustrated and well written
manuals for all our products. |
| |
 |
|
We do not want to sell
you advertising or print your auction catalogues. We are only interested in
providing the best possible
auction management software. |
|
We are Independent
We are independent of any other group. We are self-financing. We have no external shareholders. We can
therefore act as honest brokers for all aspects of the auction
business and its IT requirements.
New Developments
Our profits are fed back into the
business. We invest heavily in research and
development and believe we are the only auction software group who
actively continue to enhance their product range.
